Charlotte Fairfield

- Grew up on a ranch in Cameron, Texas and lived there with her parents until she was 18 years old. At 18, she made the decision to attend college at the University of Washington in Seattle. She hasn't looked back since.

- Had a pleasant childhood as the youngest child, preceeded by four older brothers, all of whom baby her to no end.

- At the University of Washington, which she attended on scholarship, she majored in English and opted to concentrate in Creative Writing. It has always been a dream to have her work published, but in the next few years she hopes to make it a reality.

- Until her aspirations of becoming a full-time writer are fulfilled, she is working two different jobs. She is ** an assistant to a high powered literary publisher who intimidates her to no end during the week, and is a bartender at a local establishment on the weekends.

- At the age of 22, gave birth to her then-fiance's son, named Scott Alexander after his father. They had only become engaged because of their bundle of joy, and quickly decided that they were getting married for the wrong reasons.

- Presently, Scott is four years old and splits his time between his two parents. Charlotte has Scott during the week, and hands him off to his father after school on Friday. She picks him up Sunday afternoon, and they have lunch as a family. Obviously this is how she's able to have a weekend job.

- This summer, Scott will be attending a local day camp until three in the afternoon, and then will be picked up by his babysitter. Charlotte doesn't get home until around dinnertime.

- Since breaking up with Scott's father, she has tried dating but found it to be unsuccessful. She's very protective of her son and is reluctant to introduce him to just anyone, and finds that locating men that are interested in pursuing something with a single mother is quite difficult.

- Has always been a good friend, and maintains close relationships with people from college because she is so good at keeping up with people. She also knows all the gossip, but is incredibly good at keeping her mouth shut.

- Loves karaoke. She has a decent voice, but is more interested in entertaining the crowd than actually singing well.

- Known amongst preschool mothers and friends alike to have a bag very similar to Mary Poppins. Anything and everything you could possibly need (that can fit in the oversized shoulderbag) is inside. Chances are it will take a few minutes to find what you need, but it's in there.

- Full of startlingly freakish knowledge and a self-proclaimed nerd. Will be happy to entertain anyone with a stunning display of geek bravado whenever possible.

- Managed to train most of her southern accent out of everyday speech, but tends to let it slip when she's excited, nervous, or really tired. Denies being a southern belle, but is proud of her heritage.

- Much to her parents' dismay, holds politically liberal views and tends to vote Democrat. Feels that there should be an innate respect for human rights and dignity. Against capital punishment, against abortion, in favor of attributing more funds to education, in favor of environmental protection, in favor of a more affordable healthcare system. Supports Barack Obama.

- Her son would describe her as silly, a very good fingerpainter, the BEST cook, and a meanie (for making him clean his room).

- Her regulars at the bar would describe her as a constant source of entertainment, loud, animated, energetic, quick, and loyal. If you're looking for the kind of bartender that's going to give good advice on life and love, come earlier in the night. If you're looking for the kind of bartender that's going to shake it to Usher while serving up your Bud Light, come a little later.
